The online editor is an important position in our organization and oversees the placement of all news content on the bismarcktribune.com website.  The online editor is responsible for maintaining and enhancing assigned news content and functions of the Web site and with developing innovative features that provide compelling online content for the enterprises’ Web site, including video, audio, animated info-graphics, and other types of multi-media journalism. Responsibilities: Posts print products online, Shoots and edits video, Instructs reporters on proper use of multi-media equipment, Writes and/or edits original material such as blogs, Maintains and updates sites, Posts hourly updates and news bulletins. Qualifications: Online experience (video and audio), Experienced with news gathering, writing and editing, Excellent communication skills and ability to set priorities and give attention to detail, Able to adapt to continuously changing work environment and learn new technologies as they emerge. Proficient with computer operating systems, Knowledge of HTML, CSS and a wide range of software including FTP, Photoshop and QuarkXPress. Desired knowledge, skills & abilities: Four-year degree in journalism or technology-related field, Experience with Adobe Premier or other video editing software, Experience with audio and video editing software, Knowledge of AP style, Must be able to work well on own with limited supervision, Ability to deal with multiple objectives and timelines and to pay attention to detail.
