Speakers booked for symposium

The author of the book "Saving Community Journalism" has been booked as the keynote speaker for this year's Witham Symposium on Excellence in Newspapers. Penelope Abernathy, is Knight Chair of Journalism and Digital Media Ethics at the University of North Carolina. She'll be joined on the program by longtime South Dakota newspaper publisher Tim Waltner and University of North Dakota journalism professor Sarah Cavanah. More speakers will be added to the event, which will be held Oct. 14-15 at the UND Student Union.
